Pumpkins - they are not just for pies!
If you like pumpkins but have never tried them in a pasta sauce, you may be pleasantly surprised. Most of us think of pumpkins as desserts; either in pies, cookies, cakes and quick breads - especially around the Thanksgiving Holiday. But pumpkins are great in savory dishes as well. Try making a pumpkin soup, pumpkin rolls or a creamy pumpkin sauce for pasta. Once you try these foods its easy to see why pumpkins have been enjoyed by Americans as far back as the Pilgrims. This tasty, versatile vegetable is part of the winter squash family and can be enjoyed in many ways, so this holiday season don't use up all of your pumpkin puree on just your pies!
